• MANUFACTURING • NEW ENERGY • URBANISATION • CONSUMPTION PREMIUMISATION • EQUITY SAVINGS CULT
➦ New Energy refers to the entire ecosystem of generating, storing
and transmitting energy through use of renewable sources; it
is not just about clean electricity generation, but ‘greenifying’
economic activity on a far bigger scale
➦ Energy security is vital to sustaining economic growth over a
long period; traditional fossil fuels, while still needed, are no
more cheap, reliable or sustainable in a world that’s confronting
the challenge of instable geopolitics and climate change
➦ Nations, including India, have set stringent targets for cutting
carbon footprints amid the mounting threat of climate change
➦ In this era of New Energy, India has a clear edge with
abundant sun and sand; it is already the lowest-
cost producer of solar energy, and plans are afoot to
generate green hydrogen
➦ The manufacturing-infrastructure-energy trinity would not
only secure India’s long-term growth, but would also generate
significant investments and create jobs in the country
