Above all, times are providential. A new world order is afoot. History’s
inexorable dialectic is advancing to the next stage – the antithesis. If
economic efficiency, cheap energy and just-in-time manufacturing
were the tenets of the fading epoch, diversification, dependability,
friend-shoring and green energy are the slogans of the emerging
new world order. India may be at the crossroads, wherein many of
these trails meet. The nation stands young in this age of ageing. China
meanwhile is left enervated after breakneck debt accumulation. India
is, thus, primed for prominence.
The synergetic interplay of India’s 5D endowments holds the promise
of immense opportunities for investors, businesses and citizens alike.
It would re-energise the macro trends presently plodding through
a slow lane, give birth to new business opportunities, engender
new behaviours among consumers, open new avenues for savers
and investors, and empower citizens in ways not hitherto seen. We
aggregate this opportunity into five key trends: the cementing of
manufacturing-infrastructure nexus, a growing footprint of new
energy, accelerated urbanisation, premiumisation of consumption
and a broadening equity cult among savers.
In all, the idea of this book is to provide a ladder to a vantage point
from where the India opportunity, seen in all dimensions and colours,
is more palpable to the beholder. In doing so, we hope to inspire the
