Energy has long been India’s bugbear. Amid enormous energy shortages and
has been vulnerable to vicissitudes of supply, price and foreign exchange.
It has accordingly been a forced polluter. All of this has hurt India’s economics,
competitiveness, and the physical self.
The new energy paradigm in the works could metamorphose India into a leader
in new energy—upending not just its weaknesses into strengths, but also
paving the way for renewed distribution economics and innovation, and a clean
environment along the way.
