Shiv Sehgal is President and Deputy CEO, and Co-Head of the Institutional Clients Group, Nuvama Global Investment Advisors. In this role, Shiv provides leadership to one of India’s largest equity franchises and is responsible for the Capital Market businesses which includes Institutional Equities (covering sales, research and trading) and Asset Services.
Shiv has worked in the investment management and financial services industry for close to two decades, the majority of which has been in emerging market funds in the pan-Asia markets. Shiv has extensive experience of working in long-short emerging market hedge funds in Sydney and Singapore.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute, USA and holds a Masters in Banking and Finance from Griffith University, Brisbane.
Shiv Diwan is Head, Institutional Equities at Nuvama. In his current role, apart from managing some of the firm’s biggest institutional clients, Shiv leads a sales team that manages institutional client relationships across the globe, a trading team with strong capabilities in cash and derivatives trading, ably supported by a research team that brings in-depth and unmatched research to the table.
Shiv and his team have been instrumental in successfully executing a large number of IPOs and QIPs for some of India’s top business houses, corporates, new and next generation entrepreneurs, marquee institutions, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and banks to mobilize capital from investors overseas across the world, making Nuvama among the top 3 intermediaries in terms of number of deals executed.
Shiv also leads the Nuvama Marquee India Conference and the Nuvama International Conference in USA, UK and Asia that brings together some leading names across the industry and institutional investor community. He is a member of the Senior Leadership Committee of the Nuvama group.
Abneesh Roy has more than 20+ years of experience in the Consumer sector covering Equity research, Strategy and Business Intelligence. He actively covers more than 33 companies across the Consumer, Retail and Media sectors. Abneesh has an MBA from IIM, Indore and a B.E – Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University.
Achal Lohade has over 19 years of experience in Equity Research. Achal’s last stint was at JM Financial Institutional Equities (2008-24) where he covered diverse sectors including Consumer Electricals, Ports, Logistics, Building Materials and Sugar sectors. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has also completed CFA Program (AIMR, USA).
Archit Joshi has over 8 years of experience in equity research, covering the Chemicals and Agriculture sectors. He has also covered companies under the Textiles, Paints and Sugar sectors.
He has previously worked with B&K Securities, Dolat Capital and HDFC Securities.
Archit holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai and an MBA in Finance from Welingkar Institute of management, Mumbai. Archit has also been a professional Archer, with participations in National and International tournaments.
Ashish Kejriwal has over 16 years of experience in covering Metals & Mining sector. He actively covers more than 15 companies across the Metals & Mining sector. Ashish has completed its Masters of Business Economics from Delhi University and has graduated in BA (H)Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi.
Jal Irani leads institutional equities research for Nuvama in the Oil & Gas and Aviation sectors, in addition to handling strategic projects. Over the past 27 years, Jal Irani has successfully built a few businesses, including as Research Head for India as well as Asian Energy Head at both Indian as well as multi-national firms, including JP Morgan, Macquarie Capital, Société Générale and ICICI Securities.
Kapil is the Lead Economist with Nuvama and has more than 13 years of experience in economic research, covering the Indian economy as well as global trends. Prior to joining Nuvama in 2010, Kapil worked as an economist with ICICI Bank for 5 years. He has a Masters in International Economics from University of California, San Diego and has completed his Bachelors in Engineering from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Madhukar Ladha has over 15 years of experience in Equity Research. He has earlier worked both on the buy side and sell side. His most recent assignments were with Elara Capital and HDFC securities in sell side equity research. He leads the research team for non-lending financials which includes insurance, asset management, broking, and depositories. Madhukar is a qualified Chartered Accountant, CFA charter holder, and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
Mahrukh has close to 20 years of work experience and joins us from Elara Securities where she was associated as Lead Analyst tracking India banks and NBFCs. Prior to Elara, she has worked with IDFC Securities, Standard Chartered, Nomura, UBS and JP Morgan where she has covered various BFSI segments. Her thematic on asset quality and capital assessment have been widely appreciated by clients.
With her rich experience covering various BFSI clients, Mahrukh brings on board strong relationships across FIIS, Domestic Clients & Corporates and will work towards further strengthening the Franchise for Nuvama Institutional Equities.
She has completed her MMS (Finance) from K.J. Somaiya Institute, Mumbai and Bachelor of Commerce from HR College, Mumbai.
Parvez Qazi has been working at Nuvama since August 2007. He tracks the India property and infrastructure (EPC) sectors. Parvez has an MBA from IIM Indore and a B. Tech from Jamia Millia Islamia University.
Prateek is the Lead Strategist. He has more than 11 years of experience covering trends in Indian and global equities, and Indian as well as global economy. Prior to joining Nuvama in 2012, Prateek was a member of the Emerging Markets Equity Strategy team at JP Morgan. He is a Bachelor of Technology from IIT - Madras and a CFA charterholder.
Raghunandhan is a MBA with over 14 years of equity research experience. He has been associated with Nuvama since March 2023 and tracks more than 20 companies in automobiles and ancillaries. He has earlier worked with Emkay Global, Clareville Capital and Avendus securities.
With a background in the Consumer sector spanning over 18 years, Rajiv Bharati is actively involved in analyzing more than 20 companies within the Retail and Hospitality domains. His educational qualifications include an MBA from the IIM Ahmedabad and a BTech in Electronics Engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad.
Shrikant Akolkar has over 15 years of experience of which he has spent more than 12 years in Equity Research. He has earlier worked with Asian Markets Securities, IIFL, Angel Broking and CRISIL. Prior to his MBA he has worked in the pharmaceutical manufacturing and insurance services industry. He leads the research team for Pharma and Healthcare sectors, and actively covers more than 20 stocks in these sectors. Shrikant did his Bachelors in Microbiology from Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University, Kolhapur and MBA from Coventry University in UK. Shrikant is well connected with the industry due to his past experience in manufacturing.
Sneha Talreja is a midcap analyst with a visceral understanding of the Indian building materials industry. That she looked at specialty chemicals in the past and recently expanded her horizons to the emerging stationery & arts lend her a unique cross-industry analytical ability. Her channel checks on the building materials sector are a strong suit and widely appreciated by our clients for their first-hand intelligence.
Sneha is an MMS (Finance) from the Vivekanand Institute, Mumbai and Bachelor of Management Studies from Somaiya College, also in Mumbai. She has been with Nuvama for the last seven years, and has more than a decade’s experience in covering Indian midcaps. Over the years, Sneha has nurtured a strong connect with management, distributors, dealers, retailers and experts, not to mention clients and fund managers. Her understanding of the Indian building materials is deep and analysis instructive.
Subhadip Mitra has over 18 years of experience in Equity Research. He has earlier worked with JM Financial and also worked on the corporate side with Nasdaq listed ReNew Power. He leads the research team for Power, Industrials and Renewable Energy sectors, and actively covers more than 15 stocks in these sectors. Subhadip is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
